Free Fall performance series 2014

27 Jun 2014 : Oxford Art Factory, Sydney, Australia

Two works performed for the performance series Freefall. These performances are within a glass cube in a nightclub.

The first work Reamin’ on Oxford (500 actions riffin’ with a ream of paper), using a ream of white A4 paper (500 sheets) I improvised on my body and in and on the glass cube. With acknowledgments to performance artists Boris Nieslony and Mike Parr, and sculptor Richard Serra. Wearing a suit I engaged with the audience and did many things with the paper in sheets and as a bundle.

The second work for Free Fall : Monochrome Action : the pot calling the kettle black. Painting a can of paint with its own contents, I attempted to coat a can of paint with its own contents, drying with a hairdryer and fan, and whiling away the minutes, engaging with the audience beyond the glass walls. I took time-lapse photos of this work.
